CHRISTOPHER "ROCKET" PASQUIN - CHIEF MUSIC OFFICER
Christopher "Rocket" Pasquin is Chief Music Officer of Cheiron Music Group ("CMG"), and he is also the Founder & CEO of Rocket Records, one of the top record labels distributed worldwide by CMG, exclusively. As a large part of his duties as Chief Music Officer of CMG, Christopher oversees all operations of the CMG Label Group. He is also CEO of the renowned music production entity, Cheiron Studios 2, successor to the iconic Cheiron Studios. Christopher is also a former member of DIVERSE, which was a 5-member pop music boy band based out of the New York City metropolitan area from early 1999 to late 2001. The five members of DIVERSE were Christopher, Mazzy Matin, Ryan "Prez" Prescott, Michael Link, and Eric Veenstra. When DIVERSE disbanded a few months after the events of September 11, 2001, much of which took place right in the band's hometown NYC metropolitan area, Christopher shifted his primary focus and began working in the music industry on the business side of things. Mainstream pop music listener tastes had started to shift by late 2001, and the so-called "golden era of pop music boy bands", which most music industry historians agree lasted from 1997 to 2001, came to a somewhat abrupt ending around late 2001 before DIVERSE was able to land a deal with a Major record label, something which was especially important, and definitely needed, for the overall commercial success of any music recording artist back in those days. Regardless of that fact, Christopher looks back at his time being a member of DIVERSE with great fondness, and he credits his few years spent in the group as being a very big reason why he decided to remain in the music industry and ultimately become an executive in it. He holds a major degree in Fine Arts Music, with a concentration in Music Business, having graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey in May 2002. For the past 23+ years now, Christopher has worked with numerous bands and solo artists across multiple genres of music in a variety of capacities, which includes song selections, music management, and helping to place different bands and solo artists with various record labels and/or music publishing companies. In January 2002, while finishing up his senior year of college, Christopher founded Rocket Records, which initially operated as a smaller, boutique-style development record label and music production company for the purpose of assisting up-and-coming recording artists develop their talents in a professional working environment before taking the next step in their respective music careers. Today, Rocket Records is now a full-service record label that releases music on a global scale, and it is currently the top label distributed worldwide by CMG, exclusively. In 2011, Christopher, along with accomplished music producer Tim Coons, officially re-launched Rocket Records as a full-service record label. Tim is currently President of CMG, and he is also Founder & CEO of Atlantic Hill Music, a world-renowned music production and artist development company. Over the past 3+ decades, Tim has helped develop some of the music industry's highest selling pop music acts in history, which includes the Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, JoJo, and some others. In fact, Tim was the original music producer for the Backstreet Boys during the group's first few years with Trans Continental Records. Christopher grew up in the New York City suburb of North Haledon, NJ, where he attended and in June 1998, graduated from Eastern Christian High School, which is notable for some of its accomplished alums who have worked in the music and entertainment industries, including the Jonas Brothers, Bethany Joy Lenz, Antonique Smith, Katie Sagona, and a few others. Two of Christopher's fellow band members in DIVERSE, Michael Link and Eric Veenstra, also attended the school throughout most of the same time period while Christopher was a student there. Before entering the music industry on a full-time basis, Christopher was an active junior tennis player with aspirations of a potential professional career on the ATP Tour before deciding to retire from the sport competitively at the age of 18 due to a recurring wrist injury. Christopher is still partially involved in the world of tennis today as part of an international entertainment and sports industries business consulting team who has worked directly with numerous top world-ranked professional tennis players over the past few decades, including Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and others. Christopher is an extremely passionate professional/collegiate sports fan, and he also enjoys the subject of world history as well. When it comes to business, he goes by the motto "if you are not getting better, you are getting worse", something he took from Backstreet Boys member, Brian Littrell. Christopher credits his faith, family/friends, and work colleagues, in that order, for every opportunity he has been given in life, both personally and professionally. |
